Film Production Major

monkarrr, linsper and I just accessed our Program Evaluation in WebAdvisor. We just realized our transfer GPA is lower than our overall GPA, probably because a class or two didn’t get transferred over.

Can you please tell us what your overall GPA is and what your transfer GPA for Chapman is? If you go to WebAdvistor and go to Program Evaluation, just click Film Production and submit. Your transfer GPA will be under “Combined GPA” and “Earned.”

Thanks.

Monkar! SWeet your a life saver…thankyah :)

hehe lifesaver

jcaroll- no problem haha just dont touch it when its hottttt

and one-way ummm this is what it said
Combined GPA…: (required) 2.000 (earned) 3.705
3.705 being the transfer GPA and I’m pretty sure my overall GPA was just that. So I don’t know… if you need me to check anything else, just tell me :]

For those who are having disconnect with what’s on webadvisor, with your transfer info, I would suggest:

a phone call to your regional rep. Be persistent.

an email to the same.

a Fedex overnight letter, requesting confirmation that the info they have is the info they should have.

I say this because every time I’ve made the effort to track something down, it may have taken me a couple of days, but I got the desired result.

Number 2, it shows the seriousness of your intent. There may only be a few slots left - show them that acceptance matters to you, deeply.

Good luck!

linsper and all other USC applicants, I just got another update on USC. It’s the “June 11, committee” one. Share any thoughts in here, because we’re all in the same boat with USC and Chapman, so we may as well talk. There’s too many people in the USC thread, I feel ignored.

For those of you who have this update, can you log into the enrollment page? I think there’s two, I can get into one but not the other.

Get this, 1 day after I posted a flyer up at Chapman for an actress, I got three replys!

That’s good to know. When I was casting for my short film in August 2008, I must have got over 100+ replies for the lead actress role. Some girls were still submitting their resumes while we were filming.

I can’t get into the enrollment page for USC. Yet, someone posted saying they didn’t do NY people yet. So who knows…All I know is I dislike waiting. It’s torture!

just thought id update you guys i called chapman admissions again and they said that they were going to be sending acceptance/rejection letters all the way until school starts in august haha but thats only because they let people apply whenever…i told them that they had all my stuff since march 12th and they said people in my boat that submitted on time should indeed hear before the 1st …crazy huh…anyways thought id keep you guys up to date on everything…i have to call back next week for financial aid so ill let you guys know what they say about admission then too…(if we dont hear about anything by then) have a good long weekend!

WHAT??? ‘TILL AUGUST??? ARE THEY FRICKIN’ NUTS!!! Wwowowoww…I applied on time, I really hope I don’t wait until August. Mine was complete on May 1st. Give me a break! Mine says Decision Pending, do you think I’m good? Ehhh…Now I’m worried. =(

i wouldnt be worried i mean it is what it is theyre a private institution so they can do what they want to do …we just have to keep hoping that they will let us know next week…oh and about usc i called them the other day as i said before on here and they said they dont have anything like a webadvisor that will keep you updated on acceptance, they literally just send you something in the mail…

I think I’m going to give Chapman a call and ask when I’m going to hear about my decision. But, I don’t want to bother them at the same time. It better not be like July or something because I have other schools I applied to too. Is yours Decision Pending?

USC should get something similar to Webadvisor. I’d rather know my decision online than wait for the mail. =/

exactly thats what i thought but usc said no, at least to me i dont know if anyone else here knows anything …and its not going to hurt if you do call chapman but u might get the same response as i did…im just guna respond to my other school by next tuesday if chapman doesnt say anything by then…

Yeah, you can’t wait on Chapman. I’m already committed to this other college if I don’t get into any Cali schools. The date was May 1st to send your deposit in, I had no choice. You do what you gotta do. I shall call tomorrow and ask the status of my application. I’m not patient.

haha ok can you inform us if they say anything different than what they told me please?

Definitely. I’ll post in here what they say. They better not give me a general answer.

jcarroll6-my son filmed a project this year where they used fake blood and used karo syrup, no cooking necessary. It looked real to me, but keep in mind that it is messy and does stain. We had spot shot carpet cleaner on hand to clean up the red drops immediately after the scene was filmed.

Here are a few recipes from the internet using karo syrup. Real blood is reddish brown so you may need to alter the amounts of the ingredients for the desired affect.

Homemade Fake Blood
1 c. Karo Syrup
1 Tbsp Water
2 Tbsp Red Food Coloring
1 tsp Yellow Food Coloring
Mix together in a mixing bowl and you’re done. Try adding blue or yellow for a different shade.

Chocolate Fake Blood
1/2 c. Warm Water
4 Tbsp Corn Syrup-same as karo syrup
1 Tbsp Powdered Cocoa
1 tsp Red Food Coloring
Blend the water and cocoa together and then add the rest of the ingredients. Let the concoction sit for awhile and skim the bubbles off of the top. Add a couple of drops of yellow food coloring if you’re not satisfied.

Simple Fake Blood
Clear Corn Syrup
Red Food Coloring
Milk - Optional
However much fake blood is how much corn syrup you’ll need. Pour it into a bowl and mix in some red food coloring. Add some blue if you like. Adding a small amount of milk will make the blood appear darker and thicker.

Realistic Recipe
2/3 c. Corn Syrup
1/3 c. Warm Water
5 Tbsp Corn Starch
4 tsp red food coloring
1 Tbsp Powdered Cocoa
2 drops of green or yellow food coloring
Mix the corn starch with the water in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the corn syrup. Add the food coloring slowly, checking for color.

For some reason, that post makes me hungry. Lol.

So wait quick question if I splatter that concauction onto a white car is it going to ruin the paint job? just the same thanks for your response :)
