So any of you guys transfers that are going to live off campus, I am most likely going to need a roommate or two depending on where my friends are going to live???

linsper: i found out when i applied??? haha i could only choose from 2. i dont know which one i applied to… but it was the newer building

I’m DEFINITELY attending Chapman University this fall. I found out today after getting rejected from USC and LMU. Hah. Hopefully, I’ll be seeing you guys around on campus. Any of you have a myspace or facebook?

I can’t believe I still haven’t heard from Chapman yet.

You should call them and see what’s up with your application.

So I am going to Chapman on friday to begin the process of housing, financial aid, and academic advising, also show off the film school to my parents. Anyone want me to ask, get, or check anything out for them?

FilmFanatic-Can you please ask if it’s too late to apply for on-campus housing? I want to know if it’s full. I’m worried because the deadline was May 8th but I didn’t find out until last week that I was accepted.

We’re suppose to see an academic advisor???

linsper: yes we are. I went to my counseling today and met with the academic advisor. It lasted about 30 minutes, and he basically told me what classes i have and need. and what i should take coming fall. i want to know more about housing though. might go on a tour on friday.

Let us know how the film school is!! I’m taking a tour on the 19th!

As far as housing goes, there is still a lot left, they reserved davis and one other one for transfers, and the film school is amazing, I have been there so many times. Sucks though my parents wont get the formal tour until next weekend cause there arent any tours this week… Its all good though, GO PANTHERS!

Good to hear housing is still available. I would rather live in a dorm to make friends since I don’t know anyone in CA.

I guess I’m gonna have to book a flight to see my adviser after I get that acceptance package and financial aid. I want to take a tour of the film school and campus anyway. My parents still think I don’t have to visit because I already made up my mind in what school to attend. I shall let them know we gotta fly to Cali. This should be fun. Lol.

EDIT-Do we have to call to set up an appointment with our adviser or the information will be mailed to us?

We call, the number is for the academic advising is 714-744-7959, and yea I am a transfer and would rather live on campus than be crammed in a dorm. Might actually live really close off-campus, not sure like I said Ill figure it out on friday. Gonna need roomies either way!

Thanks for the number.

Wow like really come on now! It’s June 4! Am I like the only person still waiting??? This is insane!!! I call Chapman, and of course, I get the same old “Well it should be coming within the next week or two.” Well, one F****** problem, you guys have told me that for the past two months!

What does this mean?!

I just got a message from an admission councelor on my phone(it was charging in my room so I missed the call) saying she has an update for me, and a few questions. She is going to be in a meeting the rest of the day though, but, “I want to talk to you before today is over, so call me back and leave a message with a good time I can call you after the meeting.”

:( please let it be good news, and not be her telling me that I’m waitlisted, or accepted to my second choice (english, which I hate lol)

oh and please don’t let her questions be

“Wait, did you actually think you could get into Chapman?”, or “Are you single?”, or
“Have you ever considered applying to Chapman as a Janitor?”

I have no idea what that means. To be completely honest, that sounds scary.

I haven’t received any news from Chapman either, and I’ve already decided on USC. I love Chapman but USC was always my first choice. I am, however, planning on applying to Chapman for an MFA in Film Production. Sadly, you will all be gone by then!

jcaroll6-I doubt it’s bad news. They don’t call people to say “we have rejected you”. Instead, they would’ve put Decision Complete on webadvisor and you would wait for the dreadful letter in the mail. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. They called me to ask about my acceptance to Dodge. It wasn’t anything bad. It might be to ask if you want to be put into your 2nd major. After you say okay, they would change the webadvisor to Admission Approved. Call back! Let us know what she says…

One-way-There’s a chance I’ll still be at Chapman. According to the program evaluation, 38 credits transferred over leaving me to be a sophomore. The last year I’m there, I might see you.(edit: doesn’t count spring classes so may be more credits)

Anyways, USC is a fantastic school. I would pick USC over Chapman any day. They plan on making more additions to the film school next year. To me, you made the right decision. Go Trojans! Haha.

I’m going to be a Sophomore at USC, too. I’m also planning on minoring in Screenwriting, so it may take rougly three years for me to finish.

It’s okay, hopefully some of you will come back for an MA/MFA degree. If not, I’ll still see you guys eventually…

Linsper you were right, it was about the second choice major(got denied film pro), I told her I didn’t want to do english(or my third choice the new producing major)…thanks…but no thanks haha. I’m moving back to norcal and taking an internship with a decent sized production company out of San Rafeal. So I guess it will all work out in the end (as long as my parents don’t drive me insane). I’ll try and be positive, although, I know it would have been a blast to work with all of you

Anyways, like I said before, lets keep this thread going forever haha
