Film Production Major

I was told by business office that they sent username/password info by mail to applicants, and that at the stage where your file is complete, that the university communicates officially through webadvisor. I don’t know if that also means transfer applicants, but I would think so.

You go to webadvisor pulldown menu, and it looks like the username they’ve assigned would have been the first 5 letters of your last name and maybe a three digit number. You would have been assigned an original password, but I know my S changed his already. The webadvisor system accepts a password with at least a capital letter, a number and a punctuation mark. I don’t know how many characters.

When I use his info to login, he’s listed under STUDENT, not PROSPECTIVE STUDENT. I would check both, if I were you transfers. Under “documents”, I see that they’ve received all of his application materials, except for the deposit/acceptance fee, which is still in the mail/or awaiting their processing.

I hope this is helpful.

I just realize that I’m repeating what y’all already know, so I apologize for redundancy.

Yes, they sent me all the information by mail when my file was complete. I signed up, created the password and now I’m officially waiting.

I see both Prospective Student and Student, but today was the first day I explored the Student part of WebAdvisor. All my documents have been received and I made sure they were about a month ago. They’re supposed to be making a decision sometime this week or next, which is killing me.

silly question but… does any CU student/parent know if we get to make our own email addys? or if we’re just assigned to them?

I am not sure about this year, but last year they assigned an email address - it was partial first name initial, last name and some numbers…

You could change the password, but that was about it.

Very interesting observation regarding being able to go in under “student” and already having an email set for you - however I’m not completely sold on that meaning that you are accepted (I went in as you said and have the same situation with my email) trust me I would love to know that I already got in, but I don’t think I can rely on that as a 100% verification. And believe me the wait is killing me. Keep us all updated on any news or dates that you hear please - I’m sure any kind of information will calm all of our nerves here.

Definitely.

I’m not sold on this either, but some posters in the NYU thread were talking about if you can create a log in, it might mean you were accepted. There are little things that mean certain things, so I was just trying to do everything I could to find them. Especially since there aren’t that many people in the Chapman forum.

I’ll keep everybody updated. Can you guys (transfers) please tell me when you sent in your application? I’d like to see how the dates look for everybody else. Does everybody (transfers) have the same message right now? File Complete, Decision Pending.

i have the same stats, file completed, decision pending.
killing me killing me!
i have the email thing set up as well, but i won’t know and believe that i got in until i get that letter… which i hope is soon

Ya my status reads the same - and I think I sent my application a few weeks before it was due in like January or something, but my transcripts were in on the last date possible. I was going to call admissions today and get an updated estimated date…everyone has pretty much found out except for film - its messed up! Ill let you guys know if I get any interesting news.

It’d be great if one of you could call and see what’s going on.

Ok so I just called and Dodge College said they just made all of their decisions last Friday and that everything will be going out in the mail either at the later part of this week or next week for sure - they said webadvisor would change to “admitted” if you were accepted, however, they were not sure if this always happens before you receive your letter, so it very well might be that you get your letter before the website even changes. Either way we should all know in a couple weeks at the latest!

What? That doesn’t sound right. Are you sure you asked about transfers?

Chapman usually plays by the rules as in if you’re accepted, they’ll change it to “Admission Approved” and if you’re not, or if you have a more complex decision, “Decision Complete.”

I guess you’re right though, I’m just scared all of a sudden that ALL decisions have been made. Why are they waiting for the end of this week/next week to send it. Tell me now! Tell me through WebAdvisor!

ya I know what you mean, I asked the lady like 5 times before I hung up the phone - i guess they have a history of their system being down online…so she didn’t want to say for sure that your status would change before you received your letter. And yes I said I was just asking about transfers (all freshman have already received their letters I guess) I am not sure why they are waiting - I’m thinking they will send everything out by the end of this week and we will receive everything beginning of next week - you know people they don’t want to get in trouble for saying the wrong thing - better they say longer than sooner.
So what are your stats, where are you coming from and all that jazz?? I know Monkarr and I have gone back and forth a bit getting to know each other…was just curious who else is in the waiting pool :-)

wowww at the end of this week or next D: hopefully it comes out before my finals week so i can study with a peace in my heart hahahaha but srsly… if i have to wait till the very last minute to find out im rejected, i’ll be so up set (that happened to my friend with UCSD) but yey! we’ve done really well holding out this long without going crazy hahaha let’s all hope that everyone here gets in!

I think I had an anxiety attack after reading your post about decisions being made. I don’t feel so good.

I’m coming from a City College in Los Angeles. I have 38 units completed and applied as Film Production, with Film Studies being my second choice.

I’ve been working in film and television for over a year as writer, director, producer. I think my letters of recommendation are pretty solid; it’s from a professor and employer. I’m pretty sure everything depends on the 2-minute introductory video I had to make for Film Production, which I was happy with, but cannot show because I accidently deleted it after submitting it.

GUYS… MINE READS ADMISSION APPROVED!
i just checked it right after i posted my last reply.
God, i hope this means i’m in… D:
ill be checking my mail box all day every day now
OMGGGGG

Son of a…

Congratulations!

That’s so awesome Monkarr!!! Congrats (I’m pretty sure that means you’re in) I just checked mine, but nothing has changed with it…so I’m still waiting.
One-Way: Sounds like you have a good chance of getting in…whats your GPA?
I have a 3.7 average and am graduating with honors (getting my AA degree) in June, I’m pretty sure my essays were good and just had recommendation letters from professors. My film was ok, but I followed the directions (unlike some people - and did it a little differently) Hopefully it cut it - I mean I want to learn how to make films, if I could already make a brilliant one then I wouldn’t have to go to film school in the first place. I also applied for film production. I did get into UCI for film studies tho if this doesn’t work out. I seriously will be checking webadvisor like every second since Monkarr heard…wonder if they are going in alphabetical order…hmmmm Monkarr whats your last name start with?

hahaha thanks guys, gonna go wait for the mail man later :DDD
and my last name starts with a C.
my mom made me call them when i saw my status, hoping they can tell me for sure if im in or not… but they wouldn’t. im so anxious!

im almost positive that means your in because when I talked to them they said if you didnt get in it would probably say “admission declined” I understand that you dont want to keep your hopes up just in case but im 99 percent positive your in!
