Film Production Major

I demand that all of you report back tomorrow letting us know if your online status has changed. We all have to notify each other until something happens.

Hey everyone -
there are so many people in this thread now I don’t even think I can remember everyone’s name to give specific answers to…but here is what i thought…
guy with video - not bad (I’m the one who said if i knew how to make a great film I wouldn’t need to go to film school) I think everyone’s quality is about the same. I think you have a chance and I wouldn’t out rule anything. And I do think we are all in the same boat…
And I also got denied financial aid already - but I’m a special case trying to get dependency override…but they said they re-submitted it to the committee so I’m waiting for their second decision…Its very normal to get financial aid approval before getting admission approval or denial…
Anyways, wish everyone good luck and will update you on my status :-)

still no change on webadvisor this morning…I dont know what this means…but Im guna try and stay as patient as possible til the middle of next week…thats all I can do. Anyone else’s change?

Mine changed to, your a loser, stop checking this status so much. what does that mean? hahah

haha mine has been there for a while now…ud think we take the advice…but no

FilmFanatic, what does your last name begin with?

There is a lack of communication and we can’t have that.

monkarrr’s last name begins with a C and nrfoster7’s begins with an F. So, if they’re going alphabetically, they should have reached F by now, don’t you think? I’m getting impatient! Somebody call again.

the guy on youtube said he found out from his status change on webadvisor, so he cannot be 100% sure. and i hate to be the one to bring the bad news but i think his last name starts with a T

Yeah, see, I knew they weren’t going alphabetically. That still doesn’t explain why the rest of us haven’t received any update.

HAHAHAHA
“I demand that all of you report back tomorrow letting us know if your online status has changed.” “Mine changed to, your a loser, stop checking this status so much. what does that mean?” “There is a lack of communication and we can’t have that.”

This just makes me want to go to Chapman even more. Everyone on here seems to have a good sense of humor. The LMU thread…not so much.

My last name is Carroll. My status: File Complete, Decision Pending. My girlfriend “Get off the damn computer!”

How do I call Chapman, whats the number? I’m going to do a little detective work and figure out what the deal is!

This is the number for the Office of Admission: (714) 997-6711.

My anxiety won’t allow me to pick up the phone and dial.

OK I just called and talked to “Niko” I asked about the rumor floating around that all the decisions were made last week and that there being sent out this week or next week. He said there is no truth what so ever to that. He said they litterally just finished all the freshman applications, and that they have only just begun on the transfers (noting that only a very small amount of transfer applicants have already heard back).

I continued to drill him with questions asking if not hearing back by now has any significance as far as getting accepted or not, he said absolutely not. In other words, the chances of getting in are still just as good as they were on day 1.

I then asked what is the absolute latest I would hear back he said if I havent heard by May 28 then there is a problem. I then took a cheep shot and explained that I had called over a month ago and they told me it would be no later than May 1. He said they expierenced an abnormally high amount of transfer applications this year and that some things were taking longer than usual. I then had a brain fart and couldn’t think of anymore questions, so I thanked him for his time.

I don’t know what to believe anymore!?

Someone else should call now and see if we get different storys.

I agree. However, I won’t call because as I said, anxiety, and I’m serious.

I don’t believe that they just finished with the Freshman applicants. I think they’ve been working on the Transfers for some time now, but do believe that only very few have heard yet. Only one or two on this forum have heard back with a letter - one of them is clarabella who is not even a Film major. monkarrr hasn’t even received a letter so I doubt nobody else is getting in. I think they’ve made a bunch of decisions and will be sending them soon, we’re all okay at this point.

I need to calm down.

Me 2. I’ve been hitting refresh on the webadvisor page for like the past 20 minutes. I’m losing my mind!

I should also mention that I do know of one other transfer applicant whos status changed on monday…

Ah, man. Are you serious?

I’ve been refreshing this page and WebAdvisor every few minutes. I think for that reason alone I will be the last person to hear.

I have a totally different issue with communication from the admissions office. Granted, they’re probably busy with finishing up the freshman applicants, maybe a waitlist, if there is one, and the transfers. So 3 different groups.

My issue is that I don’t know if our acceptance deposit is lost in the mail, or taking FOREVER to get to SoCal, but I’m trying to talk to someone who can reassure me that if they don’t get that check on date certain, that WE will be proactively contacted. I also sent the housing deposit/fee in a separate envelope, and that one hasn’t hit the bank account, either. It’s been 8 days since postmark, and I’m not sure it was a good idea to give USPS the business. It would be nice to get some reassurance that they know that my S intends to enroll. Leaving messages does not give one any certainty…so I am doing webadvisor and my online banking at least 3 times a day, each day, every day, and this is a waste of time…it’s starting to unnerve…

@investorscooter - That’s a scary thought. I didn’t even check to see if the check got cashed. But they might not do it right away, you know?

I wish they’d call you back at least to reassure you, that’s messed up.
