Film production-public schools

Going out of state to a public university will be just as expensive as going private. And your chances of getting any FA are nearly zero. That said, check out UCLA, Florida State, San Francisco State, California State University-Los Angeles, and University of Texas, Austin.

What are the best public university programs for film production? We can’t afford the more expensive private options, many of which are high reaches for my daughter.

We live on the west coast–U of Montana, Montana State and Central Washington all have film production, but not sure how they measure up.

A preschool friend of Ds recieved an Oscar earlier this year for directing a documentary feature film. ( He graduated from Fairhaven @ WWU- he seems to still struggle with that impulse control problem- he dropped a f bomb during his acceptance speech)
One of her high school friends won an award for her film at the Edinburgh Film Festival, while she was attending Harvard. ( she is now getting her Ph.d in film studies @ Berkeley.)

Schools in areas that support a variety of independent film makers are worth looking at, imo.
