Hey,
Does anyone know what the best films schools are?
I'm currently going to attend UC Davis as a freshman this year, and I know that they don't have a great film branch. I was wondering fi there was anywhere I could transfer to reasonably after my basic courses.
Thanks

USC is easily the best film school...it has the most advanced film technology currently available and has large endowments from spielberg and lucas. the proximity to hollywood also gives great opportunities.

NYU Tisch is one of the top too.

well, would i be applying for the film school or applying to get into USC or whatever else school

maybe...

Top 3 = USC, FSU, NYU

It?s important to say that those are very selective schools...i would suggest looking at CSU fullerton, SDSU, CSULB, UT austin, Chapman

I have some friends at Long Beach for film.
Isn't UCLA one of the top creative arts schools in the country though. Not sure about film but I remember them saying that each major has like 20 students picked out of like 1000 applicants

"I have some friends at Long Beach for film" Do they like it?what they think about the prpgram and faculty?

^^^Im not sure, I haven't talked to them in a while, Ill ask

In all honesty there are alot of amazing film schoosl. Though the top three are, without doubt, 1.UCLA 2.NYU 3. USC. It also depend on what your loking for. UCLA has a crazy program though, not to mention your situated in WESTWOOD!

Hey, I also am going to UC Davis next year, and am very interested in film, much like you. You're right, Davis doesn't have a very extensive film program. i spoke to my college counselor, and she told me UCLA's film school only starts after two years of college (its a junior/senior program). Best of all, they take half of their students from inside UCLA, while the other half are transfers. They are one of the best undergraduate programs in the nation, with a very cool program. Your junior year is an overview of film in general, while your senior year is simply you choosing a facet of fiml you like most (screenwriting in my case, directing, animation, etc...). They also assure you an intership your senior year.

^ Wow. Thanks for the info. UCLA sounds great. But unfortunately, like all of the top film schools, it's very difficult to get in!
