Fin Aid for int'ls (yes i know of the big 6, but a list of decent offers wont hurt)

apart from the big 6 (hyp, mit, williams, middlebury) that are need-blind to int'ls, what other universities/colleges (esp LACs) are generous to intl applicants?

this goes out especially to intls who've been admitted and AWARDED fin aid packages.

state your nationality too, if possible. thx.

as far as i know...every 'good' LAC has some full met financial aid 'quota' for Intels so as to maintain their diversity....the only thing is some have only about 5 whereas some give to quite a lot...correct me if i am wrong...

where are u from hoeman and where all are you applying?

singapore. this country blows. pls ffs, stay away from this country. and if u're singaporean, pls crash ur damn car into the us embassy when u wife goes into labour. US SOIL! heck, it is worth the 5.56 rounds thru the windscreen.

So you want to study or to escape? Intead of helping to improve your country, you wish to run away and live from what other people have accomplished through hundred years of history? Should people always move to the better place instead of working for the own? If everybody thought like this, wouldn't all of us fight to live in a single square meter, the one that has the best coconut palm?

hahaha ...i think he means that its so hard for singaporeans to get in because of competition.

lol....................yeah,hoeman didnt mean that.......Neway,as for LACs,..........they generally do provide fin.aid, cant say much about there GENEROUSITY........many hav limited fin.aid makin it highly compititive.......

nobody has lots of bucks to give to 'poor' intels....even if they do....there's a heavy price to pay...Price of glittering application package...and not everyone is born 'brilliant'

was kyo joking..?

Not really ;) Either I misunderstood completely, or got excessively effusive...I misunderstood.

yeh. that was quite harsh. I hope hoeman read wat u said.

Kyo7, I hope you don't mean to be that harsh. That comment was so unwarranted for. What's wrong with seeking greener pastures?

Anyway, I would like to know which colleges are generous to international applicants too.

Kyo7, my guess is u're either singaporean, or u're simply speaking without realizing the situation here. u know what happens to the opposition here? do u know the clinical efficiency of the ruling party (or family...) in wiping the opposition out thru economic means? i wish to effect change, but fighting on blindly without a future isnt gonna be of much help to anyone. philo + english = nothing in my country. heck, even america (where the liberal arts arent viewed as utter trash) is predisposed to favoring engineering/nuts-and-bolts degrees. i'll be less than what i can achieve if i were to stay here.

I'm somewhat aware of the social and political injustices of Singapore. I just thought you endorsed the simplistic idea of moving to the "better country" for a "better life"; an idea that obviously favours economical differences in the world. I apologize for the prejudice and hope you can pursue a successful career in the liberal arts.

I also got accepted to Wesleyan, Vassar and Colgate.

They gave me fantastic amount of aid... Full ride..

However they give it only to a limited number of students

crashing a car into US embassy.. I'm not falling for that one..

...lol....me too...

If hoeman is that upset about Singapore, I wonder how (s)he'd feel like if (s)he were living a bit further north (i.e. in Malaysia). :p The grass is always greener on the other side, I suppose.

''Crashing the car'' is a very good idea.....I would love to do that.....provided,I m NOT in the car.....lol.......

We practice what we preach and I preach Peace...
