Final choice: Wisconsin or Rhodes?

Posting this in the Wisconsin, Rhodes and College Admissions threads.

I’m interested in studying Poli Sci. Have narrowed it down to a big state school (Wisconsin) and a small liberal arts college (Rhodes). Visited and like both. Cost would be about the same. I’m interested in maybe going to law school later on, but not fixated on it.

Which would you choose? How do you think they compare academically? I know law schools look at grades and LSAT, but do you think either school would be better in the eyes of law school admissions people? Thanks!

I've visited rhodes. You won't regret going there.

Wisconsin. It's pretty sweet.

As you know, they are completely different schools and environments. I don't know anything about Rhodes, but I can tell you that Poli. Sci is a very popular major at UW. Thus, the intro classes are quite large and the more advanced classes often close out quickly. It can be hard to get the classes that you want.

UW will have big classes and cold weather, but also a much larger social life, plus it's in Madison, which is a lot cooler than Memphis. Plus Big Ten sports.

Go Rhodes if you want a smaller, more family like feel, warm weather, and a more conservative student body.

If you plan on applying to a Southern law school, Rhodes would probably be equal to UW if you get the same grades and LSATs. Elsewhere, I'd say UW is more prestigious.

It really depends on which one you like better, just go with it and if you don't like it after a year you can always transfer.

plus, rhodes has a very beautiful campus, if that matters to you
