gosh! thanks for waiting mootmom! not just for the peeps I KNOW will be off the WL, but for moms like me who need some time to face reality. why couldn't Yale be in Santa Barbara or the Bay Area?

:) Congrats, klc!! I'm adding S to my sorted table now. And yes, I think we should just shrink-wrap the entire US and move all colleges close to where all of us live. (Oh well, I can dream, can't I?)

jmmom, I personally thought the bolding was a nice touch and I understood where you were coming from. I'm very excited for all of the acceptances -- in my short time at CC I have come to "know" several of the parents listed, and I'm happy for all of these exceptional kids

But the list does tend to reinforce my feelings of being somewhat of an outsider. I use this board as a great resource and I'm not going anywhere, BUTmy S currently has a working list of 20 schools and a "maybe take a look" list of 10 more. And of those thirty schools only two of them (both very big reaches at this point) showed up on the list, one time for each. So I was happy to see that the list had at least some "non-Ivy/non-top 25" sames.

Congratulations again to all these students.

lderochi - I really hope you continue to share your son's admissions year with us. DD may be on "the list", but DS who starts high school next fall, is a very different kettle of fish, and needs ideas that are reaches/matches/ and some thinking outside the box.
I think "the list" gets very top heavy, but that is because it just doesn't take as much planning and "applying" for most kids to make their college choices, (and the financial implications are not the same).

The schools that need some attention are those who aren't in the stratosphere, but who yet offer something a little different from the state uni that admits everyone - schools for my son who will be very average, but who wants to go to a neighboring state to get away from Mom and Dad.

Wow, this list is just fabulous! I have not checked it for a while and I am just thrilled to see all these wonderful outcomes and plans for next year. Lots of terrific schools. I don't think I realized just how well this CC group did this year! Whoa! I hope lots of folks stay on in the fall to let others know how it is going for their freshmen and insights into these wonderful colleges.
