i plan to major in physics
what do you think? thanks

I think it is a good list for physics. The schools are all over the US, a mixture of universities and LACs, and a mixture of public/private. As long as those things are not important to you, it is a good list. Do you have any uncertainties about it?

It's probably my own ignorance, but it seems schools like Bates, Oberlin or Reed would be good schools for English, philosophy, art or music, political science etc. They just don't seem like physics schools, in that their physics departments would probably be small and no research would be going on.

CMU, Rochester, Rutgers or Illinois... they sound better for physics but then again there may be something about LAC physics departments I don't know.

I know oberlin and reed have very very strong physics departments. bates is trying to recruit science majors from what i hear so that means it would be a bit easier for me to get in and theyre probably improving the facilaties etc.

personally, i like all the schools on this list a lot.. i could see myself happy at any single school on my list. i just want to make sure the list is balanced enough. my rank scares me.
