Whitman

Occidental

UChicago

Bowdoin

URichmond

Middlebury

Suggestions about the list and possible safeties are welcome.

Cheers!

How about Tufts, Carleton, Macalester or Lawrence?

I second the suggestion of Lawrence. Great physics program, good international aid, a realistic match with your grades and test scores. Also, check out Grinnell.

i love the "shortlist" reference

stop applying to a million schools kids

Those are common schools for Trinity College students to apply to.

As a matter of fact, our current president was president of Kalamazoo College for 8 years, until 2004 when he came to Trinity. There's some interesting facts for ya! :)

Good luck in your applications!

Thank you for your feedbacks.

briantheman: Being an International student + asking for a full ride + asian = Isnt really pleasing :) So I HAVE to apply to a million schools.

I agree with that. I know many more kids who are sorry they didn't apply t enough schools than the other way around.

I need to raise that SAT score no matter what!

Does Trinity provide full-rides to International students?

Try Trinity University in San Antonio. I third, Lawrence University in Wisconsin. Good opportunities for internationals at both.

I'm not positive about full-rides to International students, but we do have a significant number of them. I did speak with a student from Ireland who said he was getting a huge amount of money from Trinity, and he's here because: a) Trinity COLLEGE is a reputable school, b) with his scholarship, the cost of attendance is bearable. I'm not an International Student, but I'm receiving over $40,000 in financial aid from Trinity this year. So again, I don't think it's out of the question; I know several International Students from Asia.

However, to my knowledge, Trinity's financial aid is need-based, so if you don't need it, I'm not sure how things will work out, but hopefully, in your favor. I think we offer merit-based scholarships too, which you are clearly eligible for.

^ I wrote to TrinColl and they do meet admitted students need. I guess I will be applying to Trinity :)

Overseas: I will look into those too, thanks!

bump! anyone else?

. .

everything on your stats looks solid but your sat scores will really hurt your chances at top schools. your chance at dartmouth is very slim considering that you're an indian student applying for aid. applying ed means you are obligated to attend if accepted regardless of their ability to meet your full financial needs so i hope you are aware of this. most schools on your list are high matches and reaches. you have a decent chance at kalamazoo and i would recommend you find more schools with this level of selectivity. mit, brown and stanford are unrealistic reaches while chicago seems more reasonable.

Kalamazoo [EA]- match/safety

Bates- high match

Oberlin- low reach

Colgate- low reach

Reed- low reach

Brown- major reach

MIT- major reach

Stanford- major reach

Whitman- high match

Occidental- high match

Brandeis- high match

UChicago- reach

Bowdoin- reach

URichmond- match

Middlebury- reach

if i were you i'd choose
1 major reach: brown, stanford or mit
1 or 2 reaches: middlebury, chicago or bowdoin
1 or 2 low reaches: oberlin, colgate or reed
2 high matches: bates, whitman, occidental or brandeis
2 matches: richmond and... lawrence, knox, beloit, denison et al
1 TRUE safety: wooster, earlham et al

good luck!

Yeah Ajay, choose 3 from Brown, Stanford, MIT, Midd, Chicago and Bowdoin, and apply to 3 other 'safeties' if it would ease your mind a bit...

Ajay,

I found your Evolution Ezine very interesting. In issue #3 you take credit for seven articles!

Here's some advice: Colleges and universities in the United States regard plagiarism as a serious offense, often punished with suspension or expulsion. I recommend that you update your ezine to properly cite the source of each article. Furthermore, you should review all of the activities you list on your cv, making certain that they honestly reflect your activities. If any admissions officer believes that you are misrepresenting yourself, he or she will certainly reject your application.

Best of luck to you.

Fifty

^ Fifty I receive submissions from people on the board I didnt know they were plagiarized. I will add the links right now.

Thank you for bringing them to my notice. I'll make sure this does not happen again.

AjayC

EDIT: All links have been added to the articles.

I was wondering if I could check whether the articles are copied or not? Is there any such tool online? It would be of immense help to me.

The problem is "by Ajay C." By using that phrase; you are signifying that you wrote them; obviously, as stated in your own words, they are not your writing.

SAT is too low for a few schools and you are international. I deleted all the LAC and lesser known off the list since I do not know much about them.
