EC's:

Theater and the Performing Arts - Grades 9-12. 15 hrs/week 48 wks/year. This is where a lot of my time and effort has gone. Between choirs, voice lessons, theater companies, and high school shows, I have a accumulated a significant amount of time. I have been in 20+ shows, and have had leads in 12+ of them, many coming in our high school which is considered to be top notch for theater amongst public schools. On the drama guild board at my high school. I also won an award for excellence in acting by the METG.

Youth Council - Grades 11-12 (Two year term only) 5-6 hrs/week 35 wks/year. I am co-chair of an applicant-based government funded program that is an outreach for the youth of my town. We run events, do charity work, and do anything we can to better our community. The name is well known around town, even amongst adults.

Catholic Church Youth Group: Grades 9-12. 3 hrs/week 15 wks/year. I co-founded and lead a church youth group that runs church events, sponsors trips for the youth, and does everything possible to grow in our faith and community.

Youth Services Boys Group: Grades 11-12. 4 hrs/week 8 weeks/year. I was the sole student leader of a group that took 6th grade boys to field trips to bond and learn how to cooperate as a group. Great experience.

"Manny": Grades 11-12. 30-35 hours/week in summer, 2-5 rest of year. I nanny for two boys in elementary school during the summer, and babysit during the school year.

Junior Theater Volunteer: Grades 9-11. 5 hrs./week 12 weeks/year. I volunteered at a community theater company that I was an alumni at. Unfortunately, they shut down after my Junior year, but it was a great experience.

JV Boy's Volleyball: Grade 10. 5 hrs/week 10 weeks/year. I know this doesn't exactly scream commitment, but it was a great experience. I could not continue due to injury to both my feet, but I started JV in my first year and developed a strong work ethic from it, something I think that's important enough to include when listing my ECs.
