Final UM possibillity

Well, EA decisions are released in the next week or so, so I would like to just hear a couple more chances even though my decision is probably already made.

Class size: 140 (small hick farmer town in midwest MI)
GPA: 3.94
ACT: 28 (28 Math, 30 Science, 31 Reading, 26 English; I'm going for engineering and I think this is the 3rd highest ACT score in my grade, pathetic right? shows how competitive my school is.
Rank: 7
EC's: NHS (treasurer), Student Council (rep), 1 year basketball, 3 years varsity tennis, 4 years track and field (2 years varsity), 2 years marching band, 3 years musicals and plays (many major roles)

Senior year classes: (I'm taking the hardest classes they offer for seniors)
AP Statistics 2 sem
AP English Literature and Composition 2 sem
Honors Chemistry 2 sem
ENGLISH 101 (community college class)
ENGLISH 102 (community college class)
PSYCHOLOGY (community college class)

other classes are marching band 1 sem
and choir 2 sem

These are some basic stats. I know some of my scores are low but I have been told that that is very good from where I went to high school and that its a plus.

Chance?

bump 10char

I was in contact with the UM office of admissions and they said their mid-range ACT is a 31. So yes, your ACT is a bit low, but it you still have a good chance of getting in. Your ranking and EC’s are all good.
Do you have a legacy? because UM is very big on legacy.
My sister applied with a 1400 SAT on the new SAT (so pretty much 450’s on the sections) and she got in somehow.
I have a 27 ACT and applied EA too so were sort of on the same boat. Good luck to you, I think you have a nice chance!

I think you are a match for UM. Your strong GPA and EC’s should pull you through. :)
