shpeel: I don't see how that is obnoxious. But I do think a USC plate would look better on your car.

*joke for those who did not get it :p

so money which school do you choose?
I'm in the same situation as you are and I chose USC. woo hoo!!

In terms of programs:

Letters, Arts & Science Majors: UCLA > USC
Engineering: USC > UCLA
Business: USC (UCLA doesnt have Business)
Cinema/Theatre: USC > UCLA
Communications: UCLA = USC

I think I'm going to UCLA. I submitted a deposit to both schools though

dhl3,

UCLA only lacks business for undergrad. In the case of grad, it's clearly UCLA > USC.

Besides, if you look at the kinds of jobs biz-econ majors get after UCLA, they're up there with USC.

I think we are missing an important aspect of college that I cannot believe no one has even thought about...

USC girls > UCLA girls x 1000 :-)

Yeah, I don't find LA girls very attractive =(

Anyway, which campus is nicer?

Hoo boy.

The whole idea that any one school necessarily attracts more attractive people is somewhat silly.

Unless of course you have some ethnic biases, in which case it could be an issue.

It may sound silly to you, but it doesn't make it any less true in this case. SC simply has the perfect gene pool, and no, I don't have any ethic biases. I love all women equally! ;)

I will give UCLA props though, you guys do get more studying done with very little female distractions... wait I take that back. I noticed while being at UCLA, you guys served a lot more alcohol compared to parties at USC... We don't need to be drunk for our women to look good :p

UCLA Grad Steals Man's Testicle

"...The VA surgeon, Dr. John Leppert, a fifth-year medical resident at UCLA, was supposed to remove Houghton's left testicle and perform a vasectomy on his right side for birth-control purposes, according to medical records that Houghton and his attorney gave the Los Angeles Times.

In medical parlance, what happened instead was a 'wrong site surgery,' a category that includes operating on or removing the wrong limb or organ, doing the wrong procedure or treating the wrong patient..."

UCLA grads: ripping away the dignity of our courageous veterans. :(

ehhhh you obviously haven't been to ucla if you think the usc girls are that much hotter. Usc has hotter girls because of legacies + money, but i think most people would say they are more like 1.5X better than ucla girls. Besides, there are girls everywhere, you just have to look harder in certain areas. A ucla grad may have jacked someones testicles, but at least one of our most famous alum isn't a murderer with his jersey retired in the football stadium.

i don't know. i been to both and it seemed clear to me that usc >>>> ucla for girls

lol USC's so bad that the only things they can bring up are football and girls, the two least important factor in measuring the actual quality of the university itself ;)

By quality, you mean receiving multiple choice exams with 10 possible answers to choose from? I'm sure the doctor who removed the wrong testicle received a MC exam with the solutions:

A) right testicle
B) left testicle
C) the THIRD testicle
D) it does not matter as long as it is the WRONG testicle
E) ALL OF THE TESTICLES

Clearly, you know what answer he picked. :)

Orange Juice as one of our most famous alum? Hardly. Maybe you forgot Will Ferrell is a USC alum.

Anyways. I think it is time to end this pointless debate. Going from UCLA to USC has given me the experience I needed to know that I made the absolute best decision in my case.

There were many variables that caused me to reject UCLA for USC. I think I came to UCLA setting too high of an expectation, and those expectations were not met. I couldn't see myself being there. I felt like a insignificant number in the crowd of people in the lecture.

At USC however, I felt much more like a significant individual that can contribute greatly to the lively learning environment, rather than a spec on the radar of the professor. My professors at SC are some of the greatest, most caring people I know.

I sent a email one night for a recommendation letter from my professor to go to study at the University of Cambridge this summer excited. She took her time to wake up a hour early to get to school, wrote me a rec, and had it ready by 9am the next morning, in under 12 hours! Thats true passion for teaching... and I did NOT come to USC expecting this type of individual attention... but USC has met and far exceeded my already high expectations.

At the end, you have a 50/50 chance of making the right choice, I am fortunate enough to know that I made the absolute right decision.

I'm so glad that I don't have to choose between USC and UCLA... LOL

Go to UCLA!!!! U will save lot of money!!!!

I love Will Ferrell, but we all know he's not as famous as OJ.

you think those are the two least important qualities? =(

anyway, which campus is better looking?

Don't forget though that USC gives tons of financial aid as university grant so the actual cost will equal to that of UCLA.

not everyone can get 33k like you, you know... =)
