How tough is this course? I'm interested in taking it to get a better grounding in finance. I'm considering taking it without Finance 100. Is that even possible? I have A's in Acct 101, Stat 430, Stat 431, and Econ 102 (same as Fnce 101). I would probably take this class Pass/Fail. Would it be too tough to do well in this course without Finance 100 or could I manage at least a C?

Advisors probably won’t let you, but the real question is why would you want to take 203 without having taken 100? What year are you?

I’m a junior econ/math double major and want to take a few finance courses before I graduate. I looked at the Finance 100 professors for next semester and have heard that Mackinlay is pretty easy and that Wachter’s class was alright at best. I figure I can get a better grounding in finance with 203 and it will introduce me to more areas of finance so I can decide what other finance courses I want to take. I also heard it’s good for interviews and I have OCR in January.
