Finance major ---> Derivative trader

Hello everyone. In one year time I will have to apply to the universities. Both US and UK.

I have a question, which course would provide me the best education in finance, almost all the courses I have looked at are very generic, most of them are about accounting or economics.

I know that every university has different courses, yet I am asking what would be the best choice for a guy who likes trading. I have tried it, I love it, I enjoy extreme competition.

I think I am made for trading. The most I enjoy is FX trading.

I do not want to end up doing an economics course or something which will end up boring.

My small dream is to work on Wall Street or in the City.

What do you think is the best course for what I have described?

I am pretty confident I can get into almost any UK school and most of the US ones.

im majoring in banking and finance. Mainly my classes were generic like financial & managerial accounting, Macro & micro economics, finance 1 & 2, etc… I did not do anything to prepare for my finance classes I just started with finance 1 and moved on up to the advanced ones. yes economics can be boring but at my school it is requires to take economics to major in finance. And im not sure what specific classes are for trade. in high school i took accounting and economics which helped me when i took them in college

You still have a couple years left before you can worry about all that. First worry about getting accepted into the best school you can afford, second get accepted into the business school, third achieve the requirements to be a Finance major, and then you can worry about which Finance classes to take and by that time ask your adviser.

Once you have done all of that then come back to us.
