I am about to get into my concentration classes, but I still can't decide on either Finance or Marketing? I like them both, but at the same time, dislike them too. Kind of a weird situation. Which degree would give me better opportunities.
I already thought of double majoring, but I really don't want to spend another year and a half in school. My parents are really old and I need to hurry up and graduate and start my life so I can support not only myself, but help my parents out financially.
I know I should get my MBA but that all depends on what happens in the future. I heard that a lot of companies will actually pay for your MBA, but you have to stay with the company X amount of years.

I think finance offers a lot more opportunities in terms of the job market, and also has a lot more room to move up the ranks and make a higher salary.

That's what I've been hearing from people. The thing is, I don't know any marketing majors, so I can't ask them about their experience. On the other hand, all the finance majors I know aren't really doing finance. Majority of them are doing sales and something with e-commerce.
But I guess I can take the safe route and go with Finance.

why would you study something you don't like? esp if it's just to make more money or have a better career? that seems silly to me. my dad makes a lot of money but hates his job and is miserable. he's gotten so used to it tho that it's too late for him to just drop it and do something fun that wouldn't pay as much. so dumb.

don't follow a paycheck -- follow your interests!!!

This is just pure speculation, but from the people I've talked to, it seems like finance majors and marketing majors are entirely different breeds.

i understand what your saying, but i don't really know what i want to do yet, which is very scary. but i do have to choose something right now, so i decided on either marketing or finance. as i stated above, i LIKE both of them, but at the same time, HATE them. i know that sounds weird, but that's how it is.

anyways, i chose Finance.

what school are you attending?
