i've always known that i want to major in business, and since quite a long time ago, i decided that i want to major in marketing because im interested in it i think (i'm talkin abt undergrad btw. i'm a high schooler).
however, i had a talk w/ my dad ystrday and he said...it's better to do marketing in grad skul, and he says marketing really isn't hard enough for me to take marketing for my undergrad education. he said, sth like econ or int'l busines or..just more general one is better cz it opens up more opportunities and that i should take more specific one (such as marketing) after some job experience..

what do you all think? so if he is right, which major should i take?
thanks so much!

Well you plan on going to grad school for marketing right? If so I would recommend that you take international business, business administration, or even finance as an undergrad.

I would recommend you do what you want to do. Research the various options fully, but if you still want to do marketing then you should do it because you have to live with your decision (your father doesn't).

With an MBA, marketing can be quite lucrative (as compared to undergrad starting salaries which are relatively low). However, you will be able to go back for your MBA regardless of your undergraduate major.

sorrry im very confused again :(
right now i thought about majorin in general business/business administation..
but i thoguht if its so general i would b the same as everyone else...
soo, does anyone have other suggestions?
are accounting and finance really as good as everyone said? but don't these two majors require high level of math?
thanks
