Financial Aid affect admissions?

Hi, Does Financial Aid stuff including FAFSA, IDOC, and CSS affect admissions at all? I applied REA but did not even know about these following forms. I did indicate on my application that I intend to pursue need-based Financial Aid, but I thought financial aid stuff was due sometime next semester

FWIW, this is on the Stanford undergraduate admissions website:

“Stanford is need-blind for all U.S. citizens and legal noncitizens, regardless of where they attend high school. This means a request for financial aid will not be a factor in our admission evaluation.”

If you fall into the need-blind pool of applicants you can wait on submitting the documents, but then you won’t get an aid package from Stanford if you are accepted. Since they have REA instead of ED, it isn’t crucial since you can pursue other schools, but it is helpful to know where you stand. If you get accepted in December, wouldn’t you like to know if you can afford to attend?

Stanford is among the most generous schools in the country. You didn’t know that?

Hi collegec123 what is the need-blind pool of applicants? I did know that Stanford is very generous, I just didn’t know they wanted us to fill out the financial aid stuff this early. So the admissions office is completely blind to all financial aid stuff?

yes they are so send in your FA application asap.

@hilariousbanana as mentioned in the first reply “Stanford is need-blind for all U.S. citizens and legal noncitizens, regardless of where they attend high school. This means a request for financial aid will not be a factor in our admission evaluation.” So if you as a US citizen or legal noncitizen, you are in the need-blind pool of applications, and it is OK that you have not filled out those aid forms yet, but you should do it ASAP. If you aren’t a US citizen or legal noncitizen, then they NEED your financial info to consider your application.
