Financial aid after gaining acceptance from a WAITLIST.

How does this work? I'm applying to Exeter, and got waitlisted. If I come off of it, what happens with the FA? Will I get any?

Please no general speculating... I want some conrete info. If no one knows, I'll call them tomorrow.

Can’t call till 13th.

Right okay, I’ll call them Friday then.

No takers anyone?

mmoynan: For you to receive FA, they would have to miss their target number of FA recipients saying “yes” to their offer.

There is no way to know if that will happen until after April 10th.

No way? Seriously? There must be SOMEONE who would rather go to Andover.

Of course there will be people who would rather go to Andover, or any other school for that matter, but all schools over-admit to cover that sort of loss. However, admitted students have until April 10th to let schools know whether or not they are enrolling. If not enough FA recipients say yes, then there will be FA available to those on the waitlist. If they get enough FA recipients to say yes, then their FA budget will have been spent and there will not be any FA available to those on the waitlist.

Well said Gemma. Loads of people will turn them down, doesn’t really provide much hope I would think.
