Financial Aid Application turned in a day late - UPenn

Hi,

My dad missed the early decision deadline for UPenn’s financial aid applications, and is turning them in today instead of yesterday. Will it still be accepted? And how much will it hurt my chances of receiving sufficient aid?

Thanks!

The only people who know the answer work at UPenn. Send them a note and ask them.

@italianpanini some colleges are strict with these deadlines while others may make exceptions… In looking at UPenns FA website, it appears Nov. 2nd is the deadline for early admission students if they want to receive their aid eligibility at the time of their admissions decisions and FA applications received after that will be processed as quickly as possible… so I think you will be ok but may just receive your FA package later than you would have if you met that deadline. 2021-2022 Financial Aid Application Checklist
In order to be considered for Penn need-based financial aid, you must submit all of the following information by the dates listed.

Deadlines
Early Decision November 2, 2020
Regular Decision February 1, 2021
Transfer April 12, 2021

Follow these deadlines to receive your financial aid eligibility at the same time as your admissions decision. Applications received after these dates will be processed as quickly as possible.

Well…part of the point of ED is that the student receives an admissions offer and aid…and has a very very short window of time to make a decision whether to accept.

I think this student needs to contact Penn. Getting a financial aid award weeks or longer after an ED decision will be problematic if finances are part of the equation.

Find out from Penn if there is an impact for sending this late. They will tell you.

Hi!! I had this exact same issue, word for word. If you do end up figuring it out, do you mind just letting me know what you ended up having to do? Thanks!!
