Financial Aid at Kelley?

Hello, I am a high school student looking to apply at Kelley. I would very much like to go, but in order to go to IU I would need to receive enough scholarships so that I can essentially go free of charge.

My Grades as they stand are

GPA: 4.0
HS Rank: 1/560
SAT:2200
ACT:34
AP SCORES: Fifteen tests, an average of 4.8 on them.

Do any of you fine folks know if my goal of zero college expenses is at all reasonable? Or should I look for a smaller school? All I know is that I qualify for the 36,000$ scholarship. Any help would be really appreciated, and thanks for reading this far if you did.

You could apply for the Kelley Scholars program. It is definitely not a sure thing, and goes well beyond academic background, but your stats seem to match the profile.

Fredfig,

Take a look at the following link if you have not done so. You have a decent chance to get good scholarship. Your best bets are Wells, Cox, and Kelley Scholars for full rides. I do know someone with similar stats except for an SAT of 2300 and 4 5’s + 4 TBD on AP. The competition will be interesting for 2013. However, you should apply widely since other factors will be considered. Good luck!

Are you an out of state student? My daughter’s stats this year were VERY similar to yours and her scholarship offers covered about half of OOS tuition. Keep in mind that the Kelly Scholars Program awards to 9 Indiana students and only ONE out of state student. This was a fact that we were not aware of. After several meetings with folks on campus we came to the conclusion that first year awards for OOS students are very hard to get, but it seems as you “prove yourself” as a upperclassman by performing well and getting involved, there will be more opportunity for other scholarships. We finally reached the decision that it is worth it for our daughter to still go to IU, and we will make the financial sacrifices that we need to in order to make it happen. Good Luck in making your decision!

I am an in-state student! And a brief summary of my clubs would be

Two service clubs (One officer position)
Three years Rec soccer club captain
Two years varsity swimming
Class representative
IUHPFL Honors Student
Academic Superbowl History Captain, State Finalist
