Hello,
I’m applying to a scholarship that asks if I have filled the FAFSA, which I have. Then, it asks to attach a copy of my FA award letter. I thought the letter is the official FA package a college gives you, which I don’t have yet. Is that right or is it something I can find in the FAFSA website? (I have looked for something alike but could only find the option to print your responses)
Thanks!
Just tell the scholarship organization that you have not yet received your financial aid award letter, but will forward it to them as soon as it comes in. (And, yes, you’re correct - the FA award letter is the one you’ll receive from the school. It has nothing to do with FAFSA.)
FAFSA has nothing to do with FA award letter. They only provide you your EFC if that is what the scholarship want. However, the scholarship may want to know your actual need by looking at your FA award letter of the school you intended to attend. Some scholarships may adjust the amount depending on your need and other merit aid received.
