I recently reported a scholarship of 4000 dollars to UCSD. On my financial aid page, it says that the amount(4000) is unconfirmed but that amount was taken away from work study and a little part of my loans. Does this mean that they are expecting me to pay 4000 dollars of the cost of attendance from the scholarship and not do work study anymore? And is it still possible to still apply for work study even though my financial aid award doesn't list work study as part of my award? I want to decease the amount of money have to borrow as much as possible.

idk about all that but you don’t need work study to get a job on campus.

:o ok thanks! :]

basically when you get a scholarship, it will always reduce your work study award first, and if you get other scholarships, it will reduce your loans, and eventually your grants.

yeah, you can work without work study, however, most employers will like work study recipients because they are only paying half of your check and the other half will be payed by the government. whereas no work study = employer pays full wages for you
