<p>Are they the same as those for domestic students or not?
I just freaked out when I read Middlebury's statement : </p>
<p>"Though Middlebury is not need-blind in its admission of international students, we do meet 100% of the demonstrated financial need of any student we admit, US or international. International students seeking financial assistance must apply for aid at the time of applying for admission to Middlebury, and by the deadlines indicated on our website. Applications for financial assistance from international students submitted after admission to Middlebury will not be accepted, nor will they be accepted for any of their four years of enrollment at Middlebury."</p>
<p>I'm interested particularly in the "International students seeking financial assistance must apply for aid at the same time of applying for admission" part.</p>
<p>Does this mean that I have to submit all of my financial aid stuff before the 1st of January even though they state that the deadline for finaid is February 1st?</p>
It means since you are applying to middlebury for fall 2015, you must apply for financial aid for the fall 2015 school year.
For example: You applied to Middlebury and did not apply for financial aid (because you though your needing aid would work against you). You have been admitted and now you are trying to figure out how to pay for it. Because you did not apply for financial aid during the application process (meaning the feb 1 deadline), they would not entertain your application for financial aid.
If you need aid, apply for aid. Make sure that you submit all of your paperwork before the financial aid deadline
@sybbie719, Thank you ! This is a relief. Of course I am going to apply to financial aid. When I read that statement, I was a little confused and thought that they might have meant that I have to submit my finaid application exactly by the same deadline as the college application itself which would mean tomorrow and I freaked out since I don’t have those papers ready yet.
Look on each college website. The deadlones for financial aid submissions are very clear for international students.
Just make sure you allow sufficient time for all information to reach the colleges.
