Hey all,

Does anyone know if FinAid decisions for EA will be mailed soon/released online. My family sent in our stuff well within the deadline, so I was wondering how this worked. Is it mailed once it is decided or are they all mailed at once with the RD decisions?

Thanks!

I believe they’re mailed at the same time RD fin aid decisions are mailed.

is this ok even i sent in my fin aid past the deadline?? I still need to send in IDOC whereas I already sent in FASFA and CSS PROFILE.

If you sent in your application past the deadline, they may not have a package prepared for you by the time other financial aid decisions are released. It’s not a punishment, it’s just that they’re preparing thousands of packages for RD applicants and EA admits, and they started with the people who had their information in first.

It won’t affect your likelihood of getting aid, or the amount of aid you receive, but you may get the offer a little later than others.

This posted on MIT’s website today, March 14, 2009:

“(Admitted students will receive information on their financial aid package and Campus Preview Weekend in the mail next week)”

barkowitz posted on his Twitter a few days ago that EA financial aid offers have been printed out and are going to be mailed.

I just read on MIT’s admissions blog yesterday that ALL (those with completed applications) Financial Aid awards are being mailed out this Wednesday, March 18.

Hmm, well, I was told by a Financial Aid officer that they were mailed out last Friday instead, and seeing as I received mine today…

Great…perhaps because you are in Cambridge? I still “heard” they are being mailed today…I guess a few more days won’t be too painful : )

Yeah, I got home yesterday and my finaid stuff was in my mailbox. A pleasant surprise… until I opened it. I will be in the finaid office during CPW…

So it seems the Boston Area people are getting theirs…wonder if others were even mailed out before today. Sorry about the not so pleasant, pleasant surprise. I think I’m going to also be in for same. Good luck…

I got mine today too, and I live in Ohio.

Actually, I live in Lunenburg, MA (which is about an hour away from Cambridge).

Got mine, Northern NJ
