Important Notice from the FSU Office of Financial Aid

Notification of estimated financial aid: One or more awards have changed.

This is the messege that I recieved today but when i checked nothing was changed. Will it change in the morning or was this sent in error? thanks!

Umm I don’t have an exact answer for you. But here’s my experience, when I was accepted to FSU (last month) I got a similar e-mail, and I checked, my aid was dropped by $1000.00 -.-’ I have no idea why, I figured maybe they gave me too much, and someone else needs the fund. So I didn’t question it at all… I’m sure the school had a reason.

Earlier this week I got the same e-mail again, so I went and check, nothing changed.

The only thing that followed was that they changed my due date for my remanding tuition fees… my loans didn’t come in yet, though my grant did (which they took all :’( it wasn’t much to begin with lol).

So maybe your aid won’t change, I’d suggest you take a look at it daily though incase it changes without you knowing. : )

You can always call the financial aid office and ask if you’re concerned. ^_~

On Blackboard, check your account statement also to see if anything was changed there. My toolkit statement was changed yesterday to include a private scholarship award I got but forgot to report to FSU and adjustments were made in the toolkit. What’s tricky is FSU doesn’t actually tell you what was changed, you have to compare yourself the old statement with the new statement to figure out what changes were made. Even if it looks like no changes were made, there probably were changes made.

lease review your awards below and follow the instructions to accept or decline your awards. When you are finished, hit the SAVE button below.
Currently there are no awards on file for Fall/Spring 2012 - 2013.
If you will receive a private scholarship (not Bright Futures or FSU awarded scholarship), a tuition waiver, or any tuition or college expense payment made by an outside agency you must report this to the FSU Office of Financial Aid through the REPORT OUTSIDE AID TAB so it can be considered in the determination of your eligibility for aid. Failure to report an outside resource may create an overpayment requiring you to repay aid at a later date.

but my EFC is 00000…why do i have ZERO fin aid? don’t you guys get your awards in march?

FSU doesn’t award ANY financial aid for the upcoming year until the end of March at the earliest. Your EFC also doesn’t impact when you’re awarded financial aid.

OP, if you see no change, don’t worry about it.

Jossie, my awards for this semester (spring) rolled from last march : ). The same awards my previous college gave me is what I came to FSU with. But like Pasbal said, usually universities/colleges will award after you’ve finalize the FAFSA application for the term you’ll be attending college.

So if you’re starting in the fall, you’ll see your awards then, not now.
