Hey guys I was accepted for the Fall semester. I talked to a GS financial aid officer and she told me that the financial aid system hasn’t updated yet and that I should submit all of my documents in April when it updates, yet on the website it says to have my documents in by March 1st. I’m just afraid I’m lost in translation and am wondering what everyone else’s status is at this time. Have any of you guys been checking your financial aid portal?
I faced the same thing as well. Couldn’t log onto the finance portal to submit the intended enrollment form. I emailed the office and they said it was because the site doesn’t open until mid to late March. Seems like there was a disconnect between admissions and finance because the admissions officer who called me told me to submit the form as soon as possible, even that same night.
Won’t work for me either.
Alright then I guess the financial aid person was right. It probably won’t update until April and I will probably have to resubmit my forms but I’m just going to keep checking.
The portal just updated today morning. Does anyone also only has the “Home” option in the Menu tab?
I’m sure everyone has probably seen the email by now but the planned enrollment form is available.
@ConundrumGS mine has documents as well. All of mine have the status of received. I’m just wondering when they make a decision and mail you the letter. Looking at a year prior they sent people their financial aid packages on or around April 20th. So I assume we’ll just hear then.
Hey everyone! Did someone received an email or something about financial aid?
Not yet :/. Might be taking a bit longer this year.

How’s everyone’s reaction to their financial aid package? Is it feasible for your economic situation?
Only got 20k in scholarships, which makes the 50k price pretty rough
Only got 12k - international student
I only see the Home tab as well. Are recently accepted applicants suppose to wait for the plan enrollment form to open up again?
Do your mind if I ask how much your EFC/household income is? And what scholarships have you received, if you received any?
@pixielated, Private schools consider more than just income when calculating aid. They may consider home equity, savings, investment accounts, 2nd homes or other investment properties, etc. Knowing how much someone else earns won’t tell you much about your own prospects for aid. Run the college’s net price calculator to get an idea of what your net costs might be.
Including grants, scholarships, and fed loans, I’m looking at ~35K for a year.
I’m very hesitant about enrolling now. If tuition was fully covered, then I’d be willing to take out a loan to help cover housing and other related cost of living expenses. But $60,000 annual tuition for full time leaves me with 25K to pay out of pocket. That’s $50K for the two years I’ll need to graduate, and that doesn’t even factor in food and housing. Sheesh.
Can anybody else share their financial aid package?
@kia2191 Does your financial aid package appear on your homepage? Also, what does the break down for your package look like? I haven’t received mine, but I’ll post it soon. Thank you, and I’d definitely encourage you to schedule a call with the Director of Financing to communicate your situation. I’ve heard people have been able to receive aid in the form of enhancement grants or more loans, but it’s worth a shot.
@pixielated Check out the financial aid portal, find the drop down menu, and click on “Documents & Messages” or “Awards”. 20K in grants/scholarships, 10K federal loans, and 4K in student employment. The amount for each section is split evenly among spring and fall.
I’ll try scheduling a call. Definitely worth a shot. Thanks for the advice.
I’m still waiting to hear back about my financial aid package. I’d appreciate it if you guys can share details about your financial aid packages so I get a general idea or preview of how much they give.
Also, is anyone missing the awards tab on the drop-down menu? I only see home, apply online and documents on my menu.
