PBK Mom, I'm in a similar situation to your daughter. I'll have to take out about 12k in loans every year myself, and my parents will take care of the other 13k.

Vagan, you have a good deal. I would love to have only 5200 in loans every year!!!!

Yeah sig listed them first and Oasis didn't post them (i don't know if they still haven't, but they didn't yesterday) which leads me to believe sig is more accurate n faster...

man, i'm really worried, because not only did i miss the december deadline, but i also JUST got my tax forms faxed into USC a couple days ago. my efc's low, about 4000, so i'm really afraid of getting nothing...

Why are people saying I would only need $5200 in loans. Federal Perkins Loan $3,380 & Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan $2,625 are not loans I have to pay back? I thought I would have to take out $11205 a year...???

look at it this way - even if you take out $11,000 in loans every year, usc is giving you over 75% of your expenses in financial aid. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth! Having to pay $11,000 a year to attend usc is basically just paying only your living expenses on campus. They are giving you enough grants to pay your tuition!

I don't think ANY university will give you enough aid to pay everything! They all assume that you CAN GET A JOB and contribute.

This is what I am afraid of. Starting from next year, my parents are going to go back to my home country, Myanmar, as my sister and I will be going off to Universities. So, our family income will get even lower. And frankly, I don't know how we can show w/e $ we can make from another country. If any of you guys have experience w/ this, helpp me please. As I was saying, would a change of my situation, make me get a lower grant or higher as it should?

I'm sure they have ways of figuring it out. Does your home country require a tax return? If so, they probably have you submit it. Are you a US citizen or do you have a student visa?
