I just wanted to know whether the amount of financial aid I received this year will be the same for years to come, assuming my parents financial situation doesn't change. This will be my first year attending UCR and most of my fees are being covered by financial aid. Input from returning students would be greatly appreciated.

it varies whether you live on campus of off. I got less this year but I am living off campus paying 500 a month for a room as compared to 1500 a month at the dorms.

i’ll let you see mine. bc your situation may be similar to mine. i have an EFC of $0 though.

my ucr grant definitely dropped this year : ( and don’t forget tuition went up too. i didn’t get AGC grant anymore bc i have too many units -_-… otherwise i should’ve had +1300 or something.

what they gave me for gift aid this year is enough to cover school and (off campus) housing. BUT, it doesn’t cover the other little things like gas, food, etc. Last year, i still had to take out $1k to pay for dorms…

I got $6,000 as a UCR Gift Aid last year and got no UCR Gift Aid this year. Financial situation has not changed at all -__________-

i got 600(yes six hundred) my first year and didnt qualify for a cal grant, income 87,000
and this year i qualified for a cal grant but since i was a junior i could not get it anymore unless i was a super super top student or really really poor 10,000 in gift aid income 83,000

You got $10k in Gift Aid this year?

So they are giving UCR Gift Aid again this year eh? I’m just getting dicked out of what I got last year? :(

They gave me $600 this year as a ‘UC Fee Grant’, no bueno.

yeah but i think i got more this year because on fafsa my family had to report any loans taken out to pay for school which was a crapload and that may have changed my package?

1500 a month for a dorm? What the ****! I pay 375 a month for my room.

^^^ I know a dorm payment is more than my parent’s mortgage payment.
