I apparently haven't submitted my FAFSA yet to Berkeley so I didn't get any response. But does anyone know how generous they are with OOS people? My income range is between 120 and 150k and I'm basically expecting to get nothing, in which case I can't attend.

your pretty much full sticker.

What about for international students whose income is 40k a year?

oh darn, thats what i was expecting anyway. thanks for the reply. and also, this is out of topic but i applied to EECS but my letter just says I got into the college of engineering. what does this mean? Is there anyway I can check, because i know EECS is direct admission…

your really gonna want to file your fafsa. there are other factors besides the income and its possible that you will get some aid, but most likely it will be loans. Just doesnt look good for you based on the fact OOS applicants with 0 EFC have to take out 30,000 plus in loans. HTH

@Jumpshooter, have you actually submitted your FAFSA yet? I’m OOS too, and I submitted my FAFSA to UCB and the other UCs but now they’re saying that I haven’t submitted yet. UCLA has even given me the Financial Aid estimate when I was accepted, so maybe it’s an update delay on Cal’s part?

hmm yeah I’m guessing it’s a delay for you. i apparently didn’t actually submit it, so double check to make sure Berkeley was on your list. i don’t think they’ll give much aid to me anyway so oh well.

I’m an OOS student and I got a lot of aid for some reason…my tuition’s been reduced to around 30k. However, on the financial aid page it lists me as “independent student”. What does that mean? My parents would be paying for college for me, so shouldn’t I be listed as “dependent student”?
