Will applying for financial aid for summer classes (I'm a junior in high school) affect the application for universities during senior year?

You’re going to have to be more specific. Are you talking about filling out a FAFSA and applying for state/federal aid, or are you talking about filling out an intitutional form for aid for a summer program?

Do you mean taking classes for this summer while you are still in high school? If so, you are not eligible for federal aid. You will not be eligible for federal aid until you have graduated and are enrolled in college as a degree seeking student. (if it is some sort of aid the school offers out of their own funds for HS students, you would have to ask them).

If you are talking about the summer right before college starts, it would depend on your college. Some schools include summer as part of the following year for FA purposes. So summer 2014 would be part of the 2014-2015 school year. At those schools, getting summer aid would use up part of your aid for the rest of the year, so you could fall short in the spring. Other schools consider summer part of the preceding year. At those schools, summer 2014 would be part of the 2013-2014 year and would not be taken out of your 2014-2015 aid. You would need to check with the school.

As far as general limits. The Pell grant, available only to very low income families, currently has a 6 year limit. Federal direct loans have a limit of $5500 for freshman, $6500 for sophomores, $7500 for 3rd and 4th years, and an aggregate limit of $31,000 (which effectively means 4 and a bit years if you get full loans the first 4 years). State grants may have a limit - some are limited to 4 years. And some schools limit the number of years they will offer their own aid money (if they offer any).
