Financial Aid Help?

I tried emailing these questions to my counselor at UF, but she didn't really answer them and her response was confusing and grammatically incorrect...so, idk...

This is what it says on my Aid Status page on ISIS for Summer B.

Expected Parental Contribution: $1,614
Expected Student/Spouse Contribution: 0
Gross Financial Need: $1,861
Total Awards: $2,666

Under Additional Aid Reporting, I indicated that I have Florida Prepaid Tuition and am expecting to receive money from the Florida Bright Futures Scholars Program. On that same page, under Award Details, it says that my Predicted In-State Waiver is $2,666 for Summer B. I have a few questions:

What is the Predicted In-State waiver?

Is it just a coincidence that the Total Awards and In-State Waiver are the exact same amount?

Is the Expected Parental Contribution in addition to Florida Prepaid Tuition?

Does anyone know when we receive notice of any financial aid for the 2012/2013 Fall/Spring semester?

Thank you!

Bump, I originally thought it was the waiver that lowers tuition for all instate students, but since it didn’t appear in my 2012-2013 Financial aid, it makes me wonder if its something else.

OK, I could be wrong here but my niece is attending UCF for a term this summer and her parents were told that they can’t use Florida pre-paid for summer terms. They have to pay that in full themselves. Not sure if Bright Futures is the same way or not…

Thanks! I know you can’t use Bright Futures for summer. But, FPP told my mom you can use it for summer. However, it doesn’t cover all of the fees.

I just checked… she can’t use the pre-paid Dormitory portion for summer, it’s not allowed. But I guess the tuition part is still OK :)

yeah, i only have tuition

Err, just wondering, so does anyone know what the in-state tuition waiver is?
