<p>The average financial aid package for U Michigan is around 8k.. which really does NOT help the 35k which it costs for an OOS-er. since there's no special "President's Scholar" to apply for, how do most OOS-ers get the money?</p>

<p>If you’re competitive enough, you can get scholarships from the school. Some are like $10k or $12k a year for four years. Every accepted student is considered for scholarships. I think some may require you to have a significant financial need to be considered. Also, you can always apply to outside scholarships such as from the UofM alumni club in your state.</p>
