Financial Aid Letter

<p>My D applied RD to Denison. Yesterday in the mail we received a checklist from the Financial Aid office asking for information that I felt unusual. Does anyone have any insight?</p>

<li>Last Years 1040 (Not the Fafsa or Profile)</li>
<li>A copy of my husband’s social security card, as well as my daughter’s.</li>
</ol>

<p>Is this usual when one has not even been granted admission yet? Has anyone else received this? </p>

<p>The 1040 is pro forma for FA. Not so sure about the SS photo copy. I'm really amazed at how colleges and universities seem so nonchalant about the SSN thing. Wait until some few thousand identity thefts can be traced back to insecure data in the old Financial Aid office and watch 'em scramble.</p>
