hi all, I got a letter in the mail from the financial aid office saying that they couldn't verify my citizenship(I'm a US citizen). I wonder why this came, I have a ssn and all and I had my dad, who's a lawyer fill out the financial aid paperwork. did anybody else get this? What should I do?

You did register for the draft right? Not being registered will cause a problem with financial aid.

You probably need to call Fin Aid office and find out what the scoop is.

I did register when we did my fafsa and I got the confirmation postcard

they told me that my ssn didnt match up and now i have to send in a copy of my card.. but they had the right number one the letter they sent me.. its pretty weird

I got this exact same letter from them. Are you a recently naturalized citizen, because I am. If so, then you should send the Tulane financial aid office a copy of your naturalization certificate. That's what I did.

For what it's worth, they typed in my daughters SS # incorrectly. I've called three times to get it corrected. Now finaid won't process any financial aid -- won't look at FAFSA, Profile, etc -- until I send in a copy of her SS card. Kinda' silly since they have a copy of her W-2....
