Hi everyone, I am currently in community college and I am a chemistry major. As you all know, it takes much over 70 units to transfer to a university for a chemistry major, especially when I started low in math. By the end of this year I will have 72 units completed, and that’s my schools maximum time frame requirement for financial aid for community college. The thing is, I’ll still need o chem, physics, and calc 3 to transfer. I have a 4.0 GPA and they said something about an appeal. I was wondering if my Appeal would be approved since I’m such a high unit major and it’s at no fault of my own that I would go over the maximum units? Please don’t comment if you do not have experience with this situation because you wouldn’t know. I really want to hear from people that have the same situation as me! Thank you so much! I go to a California community college.
Every school has its own policies. I know this because I work in financial aid. We can’t tell you if your appeal will be approved.
What I can suggest is that you meet with an academic advisor, plan the rest of your classes, and commit to taking only the courses you need. This will be your best shot at approval.
