Financial Aid Offer Predictions

I've heard the Rose-Hulman Institute guy say that the merit scholarship package is purely a formula with 95% academics and 5% EC's. If I were to apply to the school right now, would I still be able to receive a minimum 45K scholarship with these stats? I've also heard about minority scholarships but I'm not sure how to apply for them.

very rigorous school
GPA 3.9
SAT 2300
ACT 35
Physics and Chemistry SAT IIs 800s for both
7 AP tests with 4 & 5
And use a decent EC just for estimate sakes

Best case merit aid is $17K from everything I’ve seen, never heard of anyone getting anything higher. Wish I’d known ahead of time to save the effort of applying.

I know a few who received full scholarships and they had near perfect GPAs and SAT’s.

Just apply and you will find out. The application is really easy and free of charge.

Our son with 36 ACT and 4.06 GPA got the aforementioned $17,000 offer.

@MichMom07,

Is that GPA weighted?

Yes, however, his HS only started weighting AP classes during his junior year, and his school only offers 3 AP classes, one of them which in only 1 semester (AP Gov). So it’s weighted, but not too heavily, if that makes sense.

Makes sense. Thanks!
