Just wondering what grants/loan offers everyone else got! I received my financial aid packet today (3/26). I got $12900 in grants and $9200 in loans each year! I was suprised by how much I received!! How does this compare to others?

Are you in-state or OOS?

Im in state

Towson screwed me over. Straight up loans. But honestly, a full scholarship couldn’t get me to go there.

Awee that sucks! I feel the same way. Even though they offered me a lot of money, Im not sure I will go to Towson. Its funny, because the two schools I am debating to attend are Towson and UMBC and they are complete opposites. I went to UMBC today (for a 2nd visit) and all they talked about is academics. UMBC is known to be a suitcase school and students there have no party life (as you may know!). On the other hand, when I visited Towson, they did not even mention academics. The whole tour was about their activities and clubs. I dont feel like there is opportunity at Towson when compared to UMBC, Im really not sure of where to go! I also appealed my rejection to UMD so if I am accepted, Im going there! What are your other options other than Towson?

I have to disagree about the whole UMBC has no paty life. My best friend’s brother goes to UMBC, and he actually describes UMBC as one that has a big party scene, that he’s most definitely is involved in.

Wow really? Everyone I know that goes there says theres no party life. They come home to our small town to hang out and party. I guess its who you know and what you choose to do. Do you happen to know if the party life is off campus?

Sorry, that I don’t know. But i think it is off-campus from the descriptions of the um, ‘happenings.’ btw, my friend’s brother is a freshman.

haha okay I wish more people would talk about Towson here… Its pretty quiet on the board! Are you going to TU?
