Financial Aid Posted

If anyone out there is waiting on financial aid, my daughter's "award" showed up on One Stop today. She hasn't received an email. You have to click "Your Financial Aid Awards" from the Financial Aid Status page.

I received the Maroon National Scholarship from UMN. This scholarship covers 50% of the difference between in state and out of state tuition for 4 years. On my financial aid letter it says that I have been awarded “National Scholarship Est” and when i click on it it gives the following description:

"The National Scholarship for transfer students is a two-year undergraduate non-resident tuition waiver awarded to incoming transfer students by the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Office of Admissions. The actual amount of the scholarship will be listed as a non-resident tuition credit on your billing statement each semester. If you have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), please note that the award amount listed on your Financial Aid Award Notice (FAAN) represents an estimate of the tuition credit. In order to receive the National Scholarship, you must: Continue to be classified as a non-resident according to University regulations. If your state of residences changes, you must notify the Office of Admissions. Successfully complete a cumulative total of 30 credits each year. This will require an average registration of 15 credits each term, but you must register for at least 13 term-based credits each semester to receive the scholarship award for that term. Transferable college credit and summer registration credit can be used to meet the annual 30 credit requirement. Please note that extended-term (nine-month) Online and Distance Learning courses do not apply toward the 13-credit requirement. Maintain consecutive term enrollment in a baccalaureate degree program and satisfactory academic progress toward completion of your degree at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Please note that the National Scholarship cannot be applied to study abroad programs. However, study abroad credits may apply to the 30-credit annual requirement. If you have questions about the National Scholarship, please contact the Office of Admissions at 612-625-2008. "

I am not a transfer student; I am an incoming freshman. Is this National Scholarship my Maroon Scholarship, or is it something totally different? Any help is greatly appreciated!

“The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities has not awarded you any financial aid for the 2013-2014 academic year.”

Maybe this is because I already have in state-tuition, but this sucks. My family makes around 80k, and Carlson was my 1st choice. I was hoping for at least something :(

@nriende3 - I hadn’t noticed, but my daughter’s situation is the same as yours regarding the scholarship. The dollar amount listed on One Stop though matches what we received in the mail.

Could someone explain how you reach the scholarship info on onestop? I’m really confused :/

For us, the scholarship is listed with the financial aid award. So you log into One Stop, go to Financial Aid, and Check Your Financial Aid Status.

Wait, so all of the awards listed are the ones you earned…?

I take back what I said. I got around $4,500 in grants/scholarships, plus govt. loans. Sweet! I’m most likely attending, as it’s way cheaper than my other options.
