My S received a grant as part of his financial aid package. Provided our financial situation remains the same, are the fin aid awards typically repeated in future years? Our biggest fear is passing up 4-year scholarships at another school, accepting this grant at Bentley, then it not being offered the following years.

I know that my one friends sister had to transfer out of her college because she got a big grant her freshman year and nothing her sophomore year. But I guess it depends on your family’s financial situation each year.
Did you get a Bentley grant as part of your FA package, because I didn’t and I’m not sure if that was a mistake or not.

Yes. It came as part of his financial aid package. It’s a huge financial gamble.

Nervous MAMom,

Call the Finaid office and express your concerns. We did just that and understand that as long as your financial situation remains around the same, you can expect to receive the grant assistance. It really would not do the university any good to pull the rug out from a kid so he wouldn’t be able to finish. We are in the same boat (with scholarship offers from other schools) and are going to take the leap of faith. In the end we want our son to maximize his opportunities and job prospects when he graduates. Bentley has an amazing reputation for job placement. One more thing, your child has to work hard and get the best grades that he can. I would believe they want to keep their best students. It’s a scary thing but I think we will kick ourselves if we don’t go for it.

Thank you, CaptainAmerica. I agree, a call to Fin Aid Office is a must.

Hi, did your son end up at Bentley. How did the grant situation work out? My son was just admitted and we are hoping for a grant in our package. Was yours a good package? We extra money to make this school possible . What happened in your situation ? Did your son continue to receive his money each year? Did it ever change? Was it good initially? Thank you for your response.

A friend screwed herself at Pace University not filing on time her second year! Lost 10K out of 20. She admitted it was all her fault. So make sure that whatever you hear from Bentley you still watch your dates next year.
good luck.

hey guys when did you receive your financial aid packages? I was just accepted this thursday, when should I expect it.
