I got my financial aid notification from PSU the other day...aside from the Schreyer's scholarship all i got was 5,500 in loans...no word about any grants.

the summary is really confusing me- where are people seeing their EFC? I don't see it anywhere.

also, "Eligible Pennsylvania students will be informed of their conditional state grant awards by PHEAA after May 1." -- is this different from a penn state grant?

Did i just not get any grants? and where is the EFC?

Your EFC comes from your FAFSA when you submitted your FAFSA online, you should have seen a confirmation page that shows your EFC. I believe you can also see it by logging into the FAFSA site and checking your record.

PHEAA is the state grant. There is no Penn State grant (it’s a Pennsylvania State Grant meaning, one given by the state of Pennsylvania). You can determine your eligibility for a Pell (federal) grant once you know your EFC if it’s under a certain amount, you are eligible for a Pell grant (the exact amount depends on just how low your EFC is). If your EFC is above a certain number, you aren’t eligible for a Pell grant. I believe the cutoff this year is somewhere around an EFC of 4600.
