I applied RD to Cornell and I have a few financial aid questions.

If we know that we are 99% NOT going to receive financial aid, do we still have to turn in the FA application, FAFSA and Profile?

On the Cornell website it says that the FA application was due on Jan. 4, 2008. What happens if we missed that deadline? Can we still turn it in? or do we just turn in the FAFSA and Profile?

If you marked that you needed aid in your CommonApp, you should send in the financial aid materials. Unless you think you do not need aid now, you should then send an email or a letter informing them.

The Financial Aid App. is required for all of those seeking aid. I think they stated that they will accept it late if you explain to them why it is late.

My own experience:
I go to a school where applying for aid is considered silly and ridiculous; most students think they have no chance to get any money. However, I still applied. I applied ED on time but I missed the Finaid deadline by 10 days. I called them and explained and mailed in my stuff overnight. HOWEVER... all my finaid stuff got lost in the mail!! I ended up faxing them my stuff a week before decisions came out (over 1.5 months late!!!) but I still got a good finaid package. :)

My tip would just be to turn it in and call (email is slower) to confirm and follow up on the status of your things.
