Financial Aid/Scholarship Question

<p>Ok so here's the deal, I would LOVE to attend school out of state (I'm from Texas), I am considering NYU but I have heard that their financial aid is horrible. My parents don't want me to go to school anywhere where they would have to take out loans. So how much financial aid/scholarship money could i get with:
EFC = $13681
SAT = CR - 700
Math - 660
Writing - 660
Total = 2020
GPA = 4.0
Class Rank = 115 out of 750 (although I am pretty sure that this has improved after my junior year)</p>

<p>Estimates please? Is it even worth the application fee?</p>

<p>There’s no formulaic approach to be able to estimate how much money you could possibly get. Looking at your stats I’m pretty certain you would get in (unless it’s for like Tisch or Stern which then I have no idea about) and there is a possibility of being awarded some merit aid, especially if you write a persuasive essay or if you’re a URM. So YES, it is worth the application fee. I would definitely apply and see what happens, just don’t set your heart too strongly on it.</p>
