Financial Aid: School A vs. School B

School's A and B are very similar academically and in close proximity

I am a current student at school B looking to transfer.

School A offered me a 12,000 yearly merit transfer scholarship. School B offered me nothing. Even with the scholarship, School A will be more expensive than School B. Is there any way I can talk to the admissions office at school B to reconsider financial aid? Is there a way to tell them that I am considering transferring and got a large scholarship from another school, and see if they will give me any financial aid to stay?

I'm wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and can help.

Thanks in advance.

If A is more expensive than B even with the merit scholarship, why do you think that B is going to offer you a scholarship just to keep you? That makes no sense. What you can do is dig through the website at B and find out if there are any merit scholarships available for returning students. Check with your department as well. Sometimes those scholarships come from the department.

If you believe that B (your current university) has misinterpreted your financial need, then pay a visit to the financial aid office and ask them to please reconsider your information.
