Has anyone had their financial aid disbursed yet?

Does anyone know if you can get suspended from financial aid for having a 2.5 term gpa in the fall? (silly question, but just curious)

I’m not sure what kind of FA you’re talking about, but Bright Futures doesn’t settle until after add/drop, which ends today. I’d say within the next week.

I’m not sure about your GPA question. It depends on your specific FA and what the renewal eligibility requirements are.

I don’t remember: Are we supposed to pay before financial aid comes out and then get reimbursed, or wait until financial aid (even after the 14th)?

If you have bright futures, you have to keep above a 3.0 GPA. You will probably be put into a probationary period this semester. You need to SFA to determine what happens at that point. Goodluck.

The GPA for Bright Futures depends on which one you have. If you have the Florida Academic Scholars or 100% it’s 3.0, but the Florida Medallion Scholars or 75% is 2.75.

Also it’s the cumulative GPA they look at and it’s determined at the end of the Spring semester. They also give you summer to bring it up.

^^^^^
D’s Robert C Byrd and Florida Academic Scholars (bright futures) awards have been dispursed, as of 1/14/11, I believe. Still waiting on her National Merit Stipend.

zebes

zebes, is the byrd scholarship just for one year? or is there a way to get it again next year?

Hmmm, I wonder why I didn’t get mine yet, I also got the Robert Byrd’s scholarship last term, but haven’t gotten that yet either??

my robert Byrd scholarship has already disbursed for this semester, along with the UF Presidential scholarship, but not bright futures

Bright Futures looks like they posted to students’ accounts 1/16. Normally we’d get them deposited today in the bank, but due to the holiday, you’ll probably see it tomorrow.

Mine just got posted to my account today, I wonder why it was so much slower than all of yours
