Today.... I mean today, a couple of days right before the decision is announced, I received an email from Caltech staff, notifying my missing of Financial Aid Statement of Intent.
I'm an int'l apparently, but i'm just wondering if any other int'ls have received the same email..... It's kinda making me feel nervous.

You’re an international yh, they also would have asked you prolly to send tax forms/employer statements along with the Statement of Intent, did you send those as well?

no, no i didn’t apply for FA and i’m not intended to. i mean it’s just several days before the decision date and they just notified me the incompleteness of my application. isn’t sth they usually do before app reviewing? and that’s the thing i’m worrying abt.

Well even if you didn’t intended to, you still had to submit the FinAid Stat. of Intent, there are 2 options there: one being that you DO intend to apply for aid, the other being not to, and in your case, you had to sign the latter and submit.
Decisions can actually be made in the last minutes I believe, they don’t read apps on the last minute. But since you’re int’l, the financial standing does matter to CalTech and so they asked for the form, it’s still pretty normal to ask something some weeks before the decision. And CalTech still has 10 days or so till decisions.
