Hi everyone!
I am an International Student and I received an e-mail to complete a Financial Statement of Intent ASAP.
Everyone whom I have known who got accepted into Caltech have received this reminder a week or two before the release for their admission decision.
Is this any indication of a positive admission decision?
Thanks!
As far as I know, the financial aid and admissions offices are separate. My guess is that this form is sent out to everyone who requested financial aid.
But nope, I didn’t request for financial aid. They just emailed me, probably because they wish to confirm that I do not require aid to facilitate their decision making process.
Did any other international applicant receive the same email?
Only thing is, I doubt they’d send a form to all accepted applicants that early that would indicate something about their acceptance. It just seems unlikely and would essentially void the purpose of the excitement that an acceptance letter brings.
It’s probably not all, if not someone would have already replied here. It’s just international applicants who probably are considered in the final round of decisions and they need to see if their funds can cater to required aid by each admit.
That’s just my POV, may be wrong if someone can enlighten me. But an admit who’s my friend applied EA received this a week before the release of the decisions too and he stated that he didn’t need aid which is probably why he got in.
I don’t remember my son getting this email, he may have received it, but he’s not international; he did get in.
To all future international students who did not apply got financial aid and received this letter a week before your admission decision, THIS IS AFFIRMATIVE. PREPARED TO BE ADMITTED IF YOU DO NOT NEED AID! YEAHHHH!
