Financial aid status

I am applying to Wellesley through Early Decision, and some of my financial aid documents have yet to be reviewed in MyWellesley Portal. I am getting kind of nervous since there is only a week left until we get the decision. Is anyone else in the situation?

There has also been a theory going around, that the financial aid status could be indicative of the college's decisions. (For example, if there are documents not reviewed close to the decision date, some say that a rejection is almost certain, and that the college/university is not bothering to look at the documents since they are no longer interested in an applicant).

How probable is this theory?

I don’t think it’s very probable. Usually in need blind institutions admissions and financial aid are very separate and do their processing independently.I recall when my D applied to college several years ago (she graduated in 2013) trying to guess admission outcomes from financial aid communication, and it was like unsuccessfully reading tea leaves. In other words, don’t look for any meaning there

I was under the impression that two of the documents (FAFSA and the Dependent one, I believe) are to be filled after acceptance. When I called Wellesley, they told me that fin. aid wouldn’t change the decision, but you might get your award letter later than your acceptance letter if you get in!

@college_query‌ and @lillygirl1997‌ Thanks!! This really helped me not become too paranoid.
