<p>You don't "register for financial aid". You fill out forms to help schools determine your financial need, and aid. One is the FAFSA and to do it both you AND your parents will need PIN numbers so that you can "sign" the form when you submit it online. NO you cannot fill out and submit the FAFSA without a PIN. AND even if you could...you need the same PIN to complete the master promissory note for any Stafford loans you receive. So...get yourself and your parents a PIN.</p>

<p>The student and ONE parent each need their own PIN.</p>
<p>And then save them as you will need them every year you are in school (renew the FAFSA each Jan/Feb).</p>
<p>And some schools you use the same PIN to sign Stafford loans.</p>
